About Us

Hello, I'm Neal Duncan, a passionate enologist who honed my skills at the prestigious University of Adelaide in South Australia. My wife, Val, and I have been immersed in the world of wine since 2011, and we have called Paso Robles home since 2014. My journey in the wine industry has been diverse, with experience ranging from cellar-hand to microbiologist, enologist, and winemaker. Val is Brazilian, speaking Portuguese fluently, and a wine hospitality expert, boasting achievements in WSET level 3 and Court of Masters Sommelier level 1. My previous role in winemaking supplies sales has given me a unique perspective on the Central Coast wine region, allowing me to discover hidden gems and unique wineries.

Intrigued how wine is made or curious about tasting etiquette?

Feel free to inquire with me throughout the tour…it’s my pleasure to discuss the winemaking process.

For example:

  • What makes a wine lean & fresh or full & rich ?

  • What makes Chardonnay buttery?

  • Why are some wines pink and some inky?

  • How do I properly taste wine?

  • Is it OK to discard my unfinished wine?

  • Will this wine get better with age?
